After sailing from Göcek, there are 5 islands named Göcek Island, Yassıca Islands, Olive Island, Tersane Island and Pig Island. Yassıca islands consist of several small islands, the largest of which has a small pond in it. While wandering between Göcek bays and Göcek islands, rock tombs from the Lycian period will not escape your eyes.
Göbün Bay, 8,4 Dm away from the center of Göcek, is a quiet bay during the hours when the daily tour boats leave. There is a boat mooring, a restaurant, historical ruins and a breakwater. The largest of the islands in the bay is Tersane Island, where the remains of the old Greek settlement can be seen. There are also the remains of a shipyard and a watchtower. There is also a restaurant here. In Cleopatra’s Bath, which is filled with boats in summer, there are the ruins of a Byzantine monastery next to the pier, part of which is underwater. There are no facilities on these seven small flat islands called Yassıca Islands or Yassıcalar. The sandy beach and natural shallow pool at the end of the island towards the sea is preferred by families with children.
It is possible to catch the moonlight in Yassıcalar. Gocek Island, which is 10 minutes away from Gocek, is the closest beach to the center of Gocek, so it is the most frequent choice of those who do not want to go on boat tours. From the morning until the evening, the dolmus boats departing from the Gocek coastline take passengers to and from this island. There is a facility on the island to meet your needs such as food and drink, wc and shower. It is possible to camp in the bay, under the shade trees, in quiet corners and relax for hours.
