Foreign Yachtsmen Staying in Turkey

We will gladly handle all customs formalities on behalf of your captain to ensure that you do not experience any obstacles or restrictions during your voyage in Turkey. This includes arrival and departure procedures as well as port authority and customs clearance.

The procedures for foreign yachtsmen wishing to stay in Turkey vary according to the citizenship of the country of origin. Yachtsmen can obtain a visa from the Turkish Embassies or Consulates in their countries or upon entry into Turkey.

As of 17 April 2013, the electronic visa (e-Visa) replaced the “sticker visa” issued at border crossings. Applicants simply need to log on to the e-Visa website, provide the required information, pay online and download their visa. However, please note that the e-Visa is only valid for tourism or business travel. For other purposes, such as study or work, a regular visa must be obtained from the Turkish Embassies or Consulates. In addition, passports must be valid for at least six months beyond the expiration date of the visa requested.

New visa rules regulating the stay of foreigners in Turkey entered into force on 1 February 2012. According to these rules, all foreigners can stay in Turkey for a maximum of 90 days in every 180 days. Yachtsmen wishing to stay longer must apply for a Residence Permit.

You can contact us for detailed information.
